PRODUCT RE-DESIGN FOR LASSI MAKER
After the last two efforts of redesign I have now again came up with 2 new ones.
Design 1- Terracotaa gives a very pleasant essence to the liquid in it. So i thought of a terracotta shaker to prepare lassi for it.
Design 2-The other one works mechanically with only a thumb so no more need to use both the hands to prepare it. This one crosses the limitation of an electric blender which does not work without electricity.
Please comment on my ideas.

reDesign
dear class
now that you are immersed in understanding a new material / process this may be the right time to imagine how your chosen product would have to be re-designed to be made in another material (say from wood to metal). also imagine what the implications of such a change be on the function of the product.
one sketch each with your comments.
see you tuesday morning.

keep them coming
good work. keep it up. i would encourage you to go into a little more depth when you analyse a relationship / connection between the product and the user. for example, what makes a product hygienic or easy to use. capture those features. and where is the rest of the class? dinesh

Design is giving uniqueness to an existing product after thorough analysis of its relationship with the user. Every human being changes with time and each change comes with new needs and problems. Thus, product and user are interdependent for undergoing changes. Design comes into the picture to create such changes in the product and further simplify human living.
Design can be functional and non-functional. Functional design deals with the utility aspect of a product while non-functional relates to its form and beauty. Both have their own importance for the product to be wishfully accepted by the user.
